Ortler Bike Marathon – an account of a successful event!

The inaugural Gist – Ortler Bike Marathon has just finished: it was a sensational way to prepare for summer.
A few days ago, on June 6, in the beautiful Val Venosta the first Ortler Bike Marathon was held, a MTB race which saw riders from thirteen different countries compete on two alternative routes. Participants could choose the classic route (51 km with a vertical drop of 1,600 meters) or the marathon route (90 km with a vertical drop of 3,000 meters), both starting and ending in the beautiful town of Glorenza. The children were not left out of the fun either, as for them there was a mini competition, (4km for older children and 2km for younger children) in which anyone could take part by going to the race start point and choosing a number.

The Soave Bike Marathon took place on Saturday 30 and Sunday, May 31, in a village in the countryside. In addition to the cycling race, also other events were held, making the event very interesting and full of fun.
The Soave Bike Marathon, a project aimed at enhancing both the territory and sport, was born 14 years ago in order to draw the attention of the general public on cycling and MTB. There are many opportunities for dwelling on the surrounding landscape thanks to the charming view and the route going through the vineyards. In fact, the race gives you the chance to have fun, not getting caught up too much by the competitive spirit, admiring the wonderful village of Soave.

Cycling races: the never ending story of the Nove Colli

Race History

Although it seems like yesterday, 50 years have passed since that distant time in 1965, the year when 8 people who loved good cycling had an idea: a business of friends, all cycling lovers with a single heart beating in unison. They officially entered in the cycling calendar on October 2, 1966: three days on two wheels around the green hills of Romagna, this marked the birth of the Fausto Coppi Cycling Club. The Gran Fondo Nove Colli, a legend that spread throughout the world, started on May 20, 1971.
